Data Hub
The Data Hub brings trusted open geodata into ALIGN, so you can start a project without hunting for data first. Browse a catalogue of open datasets, preview an area, and extract just what you need straight into your map. It is available from both the Map Builder and the App Builder.
The Data Hub panel
Section titled “The Data Hub panel”Open the Data Hub from the left rail. It lists the available providers. Choose the ALIGN catalogue to open the browser: a map of regions on one side, the collections on the other, kept in sync so you can explore by place or by dataset.
Browse, preview, extract
Section titled “Browse, preview, extract”The Data Hub is built around three steps:
- Browse: pick a region on the map, or a dataset in the catalogue.
- Preview: see the data over your area of interest before you commit.
- Extract: pull just your area into your map.
The extract is saved to your Datastore as a normal asset, so it behaves like any other layer. You only bring in what you need, over the area you care about, instead of downloading a whole national dataset.
Available sources
Section titled “Available sources”- Overture Maps: global open map data (buildings, places, transportation and more).
- Sentinel-2 imagery: open satellite imagery.
More sources on the way
Section titled “More sources on the way”The Data Hub is federation-first: it connects to open data where it already lives, through open standards (OGC API Features, WFS, STAC, ArcGIS REST). National and regional open-data portals are being added, starting with Flanders.
