Gallery
The Gallery is the catalogue of everything that can live on your map. Each entry is a card with a switch: flip it on and the widget appears on the map, flip it off and it goes away.
A card does one more thing. Click it and its parameters open in the Widget panel on the right, where you decide how the widget behaves and how much of it your audience can touch.
Three surfaces, three jobs:
Finding a widget
Section titled “Finding a widget”The search box filters on the name and the description at once, so searching
legend finds the Legend and searching compare finds the Layer swipe. The
Only show active checkbox reduces the gallery to what is currently on your
map, which is the fastest way to audit a map before publishing it.
What is in the gallery
Section titled “What is in the gallery”Controls
Section titled “Controls”The map furniture, the same set the App Builder offers.

Widgets
Section titled “Widgets”The interactive ones.

Layout
Section titled “Layout”Bands rather than tools. They are configured here and filled in Layout.
| Entry | What it is |
|---|---|
| Header | A bar above the map, for a title or branding. |
| Footer | A thin bar under the map, for sources or attribution. |
Viewer
Section titled “Viewer”The camera and the globe.
| Widget | What it does |
|---|---|
| Compass | Shows north and resets the bearing. |
| 2D / 3D | Tilts the camera. |
| 3D Globe | Switches between flat and globe projection. |
| Terrain | 3D relief, with the exaggeration you choose. |
| Graticule | A grid of meridians and parallels. |
| Atmosphere | Halo and space backdrop. Globe projection only, so its switch stays off in flat projection. |
| Spin globe | A slow continuous rotation. |
Third party
Section titled “Third party”These three send something to an outside service to do their job. The card says so, and so does a permanent notice inside the widget’s parameters. They need a provider and, for two of them, an account key configured in Integrations.
| Widget | What leaves ALIGN |
|---|---|
| Directions | The points to route between. |
| Reverse geocode | The clicked coordinates. |
| Street View | The clicked location, to Google or Mapillary. |
Position
Section titled “Position”Most widgets carry a corner: top left, top right, bottom left or bottom right. The card shows the current one, and you change it from the widget’s parameters or by dragging the widget in the Layout tree.
A few cannot move. A region is defined by its side of the map, and the panel widgets that are not corner bound resolve their own place.
Widgets and your saved map
Section titled “Widgets and your saved map”Every parameter is saved with your web map, so a widget you configured comes back exactly as you left it, including in an application built from that map. These same parameters are what the AI Assistant writes when you ask it to set a widget up for you.
