Atmosphere
Draws a glowing halo around the globe rim and fills the space behind the globe. It only shows in globe projection: on a flat map its switch stays off and nothing is drawn.
The space can be a starfield (a dark gradient with stars and the odd shooting star) or a solid color. Pick a solid color when the map sits in a page with its own background, or when stars would distract from the data.
Parameters
Section titled “Parameters”| Parameter | What it does |
|---|---|
| Enabled | Turns the halo and the space backdrop on or off. Globe projection only. |
| Halo color | Base color of the glow around the globe rim. |
| Halo extent | How far the glow reaches past the globe, from 1.05 to 4 times its radius. |
| Halo opacity | Strength of the glow; 0% hides it. |
| Backdrop | Starfield: a gradient with stars. Solid color: one flat fill, no stars. |
| Space color | The center of the starfield gradient, or the whole fill in Solid color. |
What end-users see
Section titled “What end-users see”The globe floats in the space you picked, with its halo, in the published map exactly as in the Map builder. The saved thumbnail of the map shows the same backdrop. End-users have no control over it.
With the AI Assistant
Section titled “With the AI Assistant”The AI Assistant can set every parameter above. Ask for example “put the globe
on a solid #0b1020 background without stars”. Colors are hex values such as
#a6b8ec.
