Feature editor

Turns the map’s GeoJSON layers into editable data: end-users click a feature to open an attributes popup right on the map, edit the fields you allowed, drag vertices or move whole geometries, digitize new points, lines and polygons, and delete features, every capability individually bounded by you.

Edits are written into the map’s layers: when you edit and save the map, they persist with the document. On a published viewer, end-user edits stay local to their session.

ParameterWhat it does
Editable layersThe GeoJSON layers the editor offers. A layer only appears in the widget once you check it here; nothing checked leaves the widget empty.
Editable attributesLoaded live from the checked layers, as checkboxes. Tick the attributes end-users may change; nothing ticked = every attribute is editable.
Label attributePicked from the checked layers’ real attributes; “First attribute” uses the first one available.
End-users can create featuresOffers digitizing in the panel, limited to the tool matching the layer’s own geometry (a point layer offers Point only).
End-users can delete featuresShows a delete button in the feature popup.
End-users can edit geometriesDrag vertices or move whole features; off = attributes only.
Open by defaultThe editor panel is open when end-users load the map.
PositionThe map corner the widget lives in.

An edit button in the corner you picked opens a small panel with the layer picker and, if you allowed creation, the digitizing tools that match the layer’s geometry (a point layer offers Point, a line layer Line, a polygon layer Polygon). Clicking any feature (including ones already in the layer) opens its popup at the clicked spot: the editable fields, Save, and (depending on what you allowed) a Geometry button and a Delete button. New features open the same popup so attributes can be filled right after digitizing.

When Geometry editing starts, the attribute popup steps aside so it doesn’t cover the map: drag a vertex (the one you grab turns blue) or the shape body, then double-click or press Enter to save and return to the popup.
